XPO Logistics has revealed plans to invest up to $90m in its North American road fleet.

In a statement issued on Thursday (31 May), XPOLogistics said that it will be buying 770 new tractors for its less-than-truckload (LTL) network in 2018.

The new tractors will have 15-litre engines and 12-speed transmissions, replacing models with 13-litre engines. The company anticipates that new, larger engine will offer “a more optimal blend of performance, fuel economy, emissions characteristics and engine life”.
